Amanda + Anthony’s Copper Gables Barn Wedding

We hit the ground running with Amanda + Anthony’s Copper Gable Barn wedding! It’s always a joy to shoot at the barn, and once again it did not disappoint. It was a perfect setting for their rainy Friday wedding, and everyone stayed warm and dry in the beautiful loft space.

This wedding was a fun one. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m all about keeping things real, so when I tell you I was nervous about this wedding, that’s the truth! See, when Amanda + Anthony booked me last year and I shot their engagement session, they mentioned knowing Jake from way back. I loved getting to know them at their engagement session and excitedly called Jake on the way home.

Ya’ll… Jake dated Amanda’s little sister in middle/high school. (Insert surprised/shocked/anxious emojis here). That’s, of course, the first thing he tells me when I told him who the bride was. I may have said “Wait. What?” about five times during the phone conversation. The fun part about that whole scenario though, was when Amanda’s mom recognized Jake. She didn’t realize Amanda had hired both of us for the wedding or that Jake was also a photographer. We all got a great laugh and then got the party started!

Knowing they hired me without any question was both surprising and exciting. Amanda + Anthony were confident I would be the best photographer for their wedding day, which feels pretty amazing. Trust in your photographer will get you the best day possible.

A Late Start + Wedding Dream Team = No worries!

This wedding was freaking amazing. The day started a bit later than anticipated (only about 2 hours, no biggie) but the team knocked it out and the ceremony was only a few minutes late! We’ve said we thrive in chaos (and it’s true!) so Amanda put us to the test. Just kidding, almost every wedding is late getting started. It’s much more common than one might think for the couple to be late to their own wedding day.

Getting to witness Amanda + Anthony’s beautiful, heartfelt ceremony was a true joy. They really put thought into everyone’s roles during their wedding day. They had a friend officiate the wedding ceremony, another was their videographer and then we were there as their photographers.

After the ceremony, we really got to party. Amanda + Anthony snuck away with us for a few moments to snag some couples portraits, before we hammered out the extended family shots. While the guests headed upstairs for cocktails and dancing, the groomsmen and the couple headed to the back porch for cigars and shots. When we finally got them to go back inside for dinner, this wonderfully enthusiastic group was ready for anything. The grand entrance was hopping and the party pretty much never stopped.

They danced the night away

Alas, every wedding must come to an end and eventually we packed up to head home. The wedding party was still on the dance floor, and guests were still having the time of their lives. So many people showed up to celebrate Amanda + Anthony’s beautiful wedding day. It was truly an honor we were chosen to be there!

Amanda + Anthony, here’s to many, many wonderful years together. We can’t wait to see where your adventures lead you and hope to see you again very soon. Congratulations friends.
