The Sweetest Set of Two: Orion & Quentin’s Twin Newborn Session
There’s something about a twin newborn session that tugs at your heart a little extra, right? Maybe it’s the way they naturally snuggle up to each other, or how they stretch out side by side like they’ve been choreographing synchronized womb dances for nine months. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s because when you’re a mom (especially one in the thick of it like me, four kids deep and surviving on cold coffee and little kid giggles), you know what a miracle it is to bring one baby into the world. And bringing two? That’s a whole different kind of beautiful chaos.
Orion and Quentin were a dream long before they ever made their grand entrance earthside. These boys had our hearts from the moment their mama, Kim, messaged me after their maternity session and asked if she could “BOGO” their newborn session. (Spoiler alert: yes, girl, yes you can.)

Friends, Family & the First Tiny Moments
Jake and I met Kim and her husband back in 2020 at their wedding, and I still remember every detail. It was packed with laughter, love, and a teeny tiny Alice running around stealing the show. Since then, we’ve watched their family grow and rooted for them every step of the way. So, when it came time to photograph their twin newborn session in March 2025 at Riandi Creative Production Studio, we were ready with full hearts and fluffed wraps.
At just two weeks old, Orion and Quentin were itty-bitty perfection: those squishy cheeks, teeny fingers, and the kind of soft baby fuzz that makes your ovaries sing lullabies. They were both wrapped up snug and cozy, completely content being next to each other. Their connection is already so deep, it’s like they didn’t even need to “adjust” to life outside the womb, they just kept on snuggling the way they always had.
We started their twin newborn session with family portraits because, let’s be honest, the first few weeks with newborns are a beautiful blur and we need to capture those early days, not just for the babies, but for the siblings, too. Including their sisters, Alice and Nora, in the session was a no-brainer. She is the original star of the show, after all.

Expert Tip: Who to Include in Your Newborn Session
For a twin newborn session or any newborn session, I always recommend including all the immediate family members. Yes, that means siblings. Yes, that means tired-eyed parents. And yes, that even means Grandma if she’s helping with those 2am feedings.
Blended family? Even better. Bring them in! We’re documenting the real, beautiful story of your family. The way your toddler looks up at their new sibling(s) in awe, or the proud smile on your partner’s face when they hold both babies at once? That’s the gold.
And don’t worry, we keep it casual. If your toddler wants to hold a baby for 4.3 seconds before running off to find snacks, that’s okay. That’s real life. And those quick, fleeting moments are often the most magical to capture.

Outfit Planning for Twin Newborn Sessions: Keep It Simple, Keep It Sweet
One of the biggest questions I get from parents is: “What the heck do we wear?” And listen, I get it. You’re operating on minimal sleep, maximum hormones, and the ever-present soundtrack of newborn cries. Planning outfits shouldn’t be stressful.
Here’s what I tell all my mamas:
1. Stick to a cohesive color palette.
Think soft neutrals, pastels, or earthy tones that complement your home decor. (Because let’s be real, you’re going to want these printed and hung up everywhere.)
2. Don’t feel pressured to match exactly.
The boys wore slightly different wraps, but the tones were cohesive, and that made all the difference. It adds depth to the image while still looking harmonious.
3. Dress comfortably and make sure it’s nursing-friendly if that’s your jam.
A cozy cardigan or soft maxi dress works wonders for moms. Dads (or partners) look amazing in simple henleys or linen button-ups.
4. For siblings, let them be themselves.
We kept Alice and Nora in something soft and easy to move in, and they totally rocked it. Pro tip: avoid bold logos, neon colors, or stiff fabrics. We want them to feel comfortable enough to giggle and cuddle naturally.

BONUS: The Twin Wrap Trick
Twin wrapping is now one of my favorite parts of photographing a twin newborn session. There’s a little magic in how they instinctively curl into each other. If one fusses, the other tends to settle down just by being close. It’s like their own built-in comfort system. They’ve shared a womb and now they share a swaddle.
These two were so tiny, even at two weeks old they’re just little bundles of perfection. From the snuggly twin poses to those squishy little details we all swoon over, these boys made photographing their session feel like a dream. I already know they’re going to grow up as the best of friends, with a bond that started long before their first baby coos.
More Than Photos: It’s Your Legacy
Newborn sessions aren’t just about getting a cute photo to post on Instagram (though, trust me, we’ll give you those too). They’re about freezing time in a way that makes your heart ache in the best way every time you walk past the frame on your wall. And with twins? It’s double the love, double the story, and double the memories captured.
I’ll never forget watching Alice and Nora hold their baby brothers, or the way Kim’s face lit up every time she looked at them. These are the kinds of moments that matter most and they’re exactly why I do what I do.

If you’re expecting twins (or know someone who is), don’t wait to book your newborn session. Let’s make sure we get those early days captured with love, laughter, and a whole lot of snuggles. Because time flies and those tiny fingers don’t stay tiny for long.
