Caitlin and Kurt chose the Hood Canal Vista Pavilion, for their Port Gamble wedding day. The air felt like summer in the Pacific Northwest is supposed to feel: warm but gentle, golden light filtering through trees, the kind of day that makes you take a deep breath and think, “Yep. This is it.” And before I even got to the venue, I made a quick mental note that I’d be stopping at Butcher & Baker Provisions on my next road trip through town because it’s one of my favorite little snack stops. That’s the thing about Port Gamble. It’s not just a wedding destination, it’s an experience.
The Getting Ready Shuffle: How We Kept the Magic Intact
One of the unique logistics of this day was that there’s no getting ready space directly at the Hood Canal Vista Pavilion. Instead, everyone was down by the Port Gamble Museum in a set of connected getting ready rooms. Now, if you’re a bride who doesn’t want to be seen before walking down the aisle, connected rooms can feel mildly terrifying. Caitlin was very clear that she did not want Kurt to see her before the ceremony. Not even a glimpse. Challenge accepted.

And of course, our favorite bartender, Beerly Beloved, made the trip to this Port Gamble Wedding all the way from Bonney Lake. If you know, you know. The glow makes everyone feel a little bit like they’re in an old 90s movie. Caitlin and Kurt waltzed through that tunnel, laughter spilling out between them. At the end of the line, his truck waited.
They climbed in together, still glowing from the day, and drove off into the sunset to start their marriage. It was simple. It was them. And it was perfect.
