8 Popular Wedding Trends for 2019

Congratulations! You’re newly engaged. With 2018 drawing to a close, it’s time to look for wedding inspiration and creative ideas used to personalize your 2019/2020 wedding day. Whether it’s food, drink, entertainment, decor or wardrobe, I’ve sought out 8 popular wedding trends that are sure to steal the spotlight for all the right reasons.

Gorgeous floral decor as incredible centerpieces

Floral installations received their claim to fame in 2018 but 2019 sees them getting bigger and better in terms of table decor. Your guests will be stunned in the most magical manner possible with alluring sculptural decor that comprise of floral installations. This dynamic Tacoma wedding trend allows these stunning creations to sit as an artistic center piece while winning the hearts of many upon first glance. Need some extra colorful inspiration? Purple is stealing the spotlight

As we bid farewell to all shades pink, it’s time to embrace all shades of purple in 2019. Subtle yet stunning shades of lavender are making waves in bridesmaids gowns, bouquets and centerpieces. The best part about this is you have complete control over how bold or soft your color scheme is. Check out Stephanie’s use of purple accents in her Laguna Niguel Wedding!

Chic, natural and classy- the minimalist beauty trend

For an award winning bridal look this upcoming 2019, brides are saying yes to all things classy. We’re talking popular wedding trend looks that radiate natural beauty while highlighting prominent features using a bold accent. Things along the lines of striking wine hued lips and full lashes or soft metallic eyes paired immaculately with subtle pink lips are the direction to head towards. And for those tresses, half up hair sweeps that frame the face impeccably are a sure shot winner in every glam book.

It’s all about luscious greenery

Greenery has been a hot trend for a few years, but this year we’re seeing some more creative mixes. Beautiful magnolia leaves paired with giant blooms are making their way into simple, yet stunning bridal bouquets. Garlands of greenery are adorning archways and serving as a buffer between ceremony and reception setups. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the fragrant eucalyptus plant to make its way into the tablescapes this year.

Unconventional and fashion forward wedding gowns are a big YES!

As a bride who wore a black two piece wedding gown, I’m totally head over heels for the 2019 fashion choices brides are making! From cropped tops to asymmetrical numbers, brides will strut their stuff in the most stunning yet unconventional manner this 2019. One of my favorite styles from the Tacoma Wedding Expo was a white jumper with a stunning sheer skirt over top. It gave the bride legs for days, while remaining elegant and whimsical.

Grooms make waves with bold fashion choices

Oh the grooms! I always love how they find a way to make their marks on the wedding day. This popular wedding trend isn’t going away anytime soon. Grooms are choosing soft luscious fabrics by pairing soft velvet bowties and vests with the traditional black tux. Daring grooms are pairing their pinstripes with polka dot accessories for a mix and match approach to fashion. Suspenders, belts and ties are taking the place of the vest during receptions, making it much easier for the groom to boogie on the dance floor.

Visually striking treats are sure to please the eyes as well as the palate

I always love a good plate of food. 2019 is sure to please the foodie in all of us with goodies that are almost too pretty to eat! Treat your guests to a beautiful spread of meats, cheeses, chocolates and fruit, that both the eye and the tummy will love. Even the currently on trend cookie, the macaron, is getting more creative with fillings and colors. For my favorite macarons, check out Alexandra’s Macarons and be sure to try the Black Sesame flavor.

Expect to see textured and upgraded linens that go above and beyond basic whites

Those bright white tablecloths are so 2018. Snag a velvet design and other textured fabric to help create a cozy feel at your tables. They’ll give your floral centerpieces a beautiful backdrop and give your guests something to talk about. I’m hoping to see lace, beaded embellishments, frayed edges, ribbons and more become a popular Tacoma wedding trend this season.
