Dawn + Jaime | Post-Wedding Session
We’ve been blessed getting to watch Dawn + Jaime’s love blossom over the past several years. When Dawn and I (Markie) met professionally, I was already divorced, and she was just starting on that path. We teamed up to bring confidence to women and found a wonderful friendship in the process.
Watching Dawn + Jaime find love both at home and abroad in some of their favorite places, left us living vicariously through them. We’ve been blessed to watch their travels as the globe-trotting couple gave us some serious “eat, pray, love” vibes on their honeymoon. So, you’d better believe I was ecstatic when Dawn asked us to photograph a post-wedding session for them.
Post wedding sessions are unique in a way that you have more flexibility than on your wedding day. It’s impossible to control the weather, and previous weather trends only allow us so much knowledge into what the day brings. If it rains on your wedding day, you need to break out a go with the flow vibe, some fun umbrellas and go dance in it. But if you’ve dreamed of golden sunset portraits, having a post-wedding session may be the answer to your dreams.
It rained on Dawn + Jaime’s wedding day, leaving them to get married under a pop-up tent. While a wonderful day, it wasn’t the day they dreamed of. So, we set out for their wedding location on a day we knew we’d have gorgeous sunlight. It was absolute magic watching these two get the portraits they’d dreamed of. They canoodled on the beach, snuggled and watched the passing ships. All while Jake and I photographed the moments for them to remember forever.
